My DH has a scan tomorrow, very much so short notice. Praying that the cancer is still at bay. Husband was feeling anxious about it but he was wise enough to realize he has developed an anxiety disorder and is on meds. I, on the other hand, am super nervous about his scan!

My results are in. My doc says it's stable disease. But I'm disappointed.
The radiologists described all the tumors he measured as reducing except one in the lungs is a millimeter or two bigger. The reductions were all in the order of millimeters or two.
I'm disappointed because the last radiologist described t we of the spots in my Lung as probably scar tissue. Now the radiologist says they're nodules, one decreasing and one increasing.
All in the liver decreasing but slower than they were.

Does this mean my treatment is not working as well? Could this just be due to the high stress I've had all summer at work? I guess there are no answers for that, but I'm feeling pretty desperate right now.

Hubby scanned Tuesday I think, when MLM did. Went for results today. I don't think I posted his last results. A 4x4 spot showed up. The next time it increased to 5x5. Some nodes showed up (Nov.) before the spot. I was hoping it was just his infection (allergy).

All (5? I think) lymph nodes stayed the same & spot too but he wants him back for an x-ray in 2 months. Waiting 4 months, Jan, for a scan. Wonder if spots are to little for PET scan? That's what I'm ready for. Anyways, he keeps getting in trouble for smoking so I'm wondering what the xray is about. Dr did say "your CEA is going up" but it was up to 9 with allergy. Higher than when he was diagnosed.

I hope you get the same good results this year.

My scan and blood work is scheduled for Sept 27th. I postponed the visit with my Onc until Oct 11th, thinking we were going on vacation. I'm fine with that as I should be able to get the results on the 29th or 30th. I've had really bad reflux the past four months that caused chronic laryngitis. I've finally gotten the reflux under control and my voice back. I'm hopeful the inflammation was the cause of my rising CEA three months ago.
Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Please, add me to your prayer list. I am scanning next week. I caught strep from my kids right after chemo and had very rough last week. Now I am dealing with post antibiotic diarrhea. I miss boring, normal life...

Hi KElizabeth,
I am so sorry you are feeling sad. The lung growth sounds very, very small . But I do understand what your saying in that the language has change for some reason which is causing you concern over your future. Although I do feel such small growth could be in the realms of error and why its being classed as stable and not progression.
Maybe this is a good time to chat through the direction your treatment is going with your oncologist and see if other options can be explored.
Hope your feeling ok today.
Take care

OMG! Did I predict correctly. My onc is pleased with the results, the tumor shrunk 50%. But no change in my prognosis. Chemo forever. My sons and daughter in laws' are coming up to Vermont tomorrow and will help translate into the puny little sentences you use on the board. I am so lucky to have 4 caregivers, besides my full time dh. Best part is, they bring my grandson up to play with me, when I go chemo-brain. We'll have fun comparing haircuts! Mine being shorter than his.

My onc says it is time to take a family vacation while I still feel good. Warning sign? She needs to get tougher and tell me what's going on. But first, I want to understand my scan and other marker results and get your opinions, if you are interested. And also get back to my second opinion. Is this something I do? I thought that they would share data. My onc got weird about it.

Long 4 days at the hospital this week. But my 5th folfox plus was unremarkable. Probably a wrong use of word, but I like how it is used in the Pathology report. Magic Mouthwash and limodal has made life bearable again, the fine tuning of special effects is so much fun.

Well, sorry for rambling, I hope to report again soon.

More importantly, I hope I hear lots of success stories!

Best of luck everybody. Our cure is just around the corner. Just gotta keep fighting.

I scanned the 10th did blood work the 14th I got results on the 15th. Blood work was good and scan showed no signs of cancer. The two blood clots in my lungs are gone :D no more warfarin and I'm off all precription drugs now. I had two small cysts on my liver when diagnosed and was told they were not cancer but surgeon would not guarantee it 100% there still there same size. They did not shrink with chemo so that's a big relief.
It was not an easy road to get to where I am today butt I'm so glad it's finally over..

Thanks Stu,
I'm feeling better today but have some anxiety for sure. The engineer in me knows the increase and decrease is all within the margin of error, and I should just relax. I'm going to buckle down on healthy eating since our garden harvest has been epic, and start back on the PSK (turkey tail mushroom extract ). I'm going to get more active too. If that doesn't help, well expire other options after my next scan.
I appreciate the kind words.
