Have you seen a Dr regarding this problem. I had this happen once, decades ago, cracks on both sides where upper lip met lower lip. Guess it was some type of a yeast infection and was told to stop using lip gloss. I know while on chemo, people can get thrast. There is a magic mouth wash that helps.

Sorry this may not be the answer you seek,

Like Lee said it could be Thrush, if it isn't I use just plain Burts Bees lip balm to keep it moist and from hurting. It usually heals on its own.

I experienced this as well this spring during chemo--ouch! To my knowledge I did not have any yeast infection, I just went with medicated Blistex and time (took a good two weeks at least for it to clear up). Actually, I even used Aquaphor on it as it felt like it was never going to heal and was rather painful to open my mouth to eat food--I think it was the Aquaphor that made the difference now that I think back on it. Hope yours clears up soon!

I had something like this once and GP gave me a special cream for it. It was gone in like 3 days after that. Definitely worth checking with GP. I'll give you the name of the cream if you want. I'll have to go dig it out of my medicine cabinet.

Likely Cheilitis. Very common in "Seasoned Citizens". I currently am recovering from it. Your GP or Dermatologist can give you an anti fungal cream.

I've not had this problem but I do get cracks in bottom lip from time to time on chemo. Mine go away if I'm religious about using the homemade mouthwash recipe the oncologist gave me which is 16oz bottle water 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda. This helps with all my mouth issues, I use it several times a day. Good luck getting rid of it.
