Hospital adventures

Postby Delinda2 » Wed Jul 27, 2016 9:10 am

Haven't been around for a while because I've been in the hospital for the last 10 days. When I went for post surgical chemo & had a bad reaction to the oxaliplatin, they sent me home after a trip to ER. Four days later I was so sick that hubby took me to ER, and they slapped me into ICU. My kidneys had shut down & I almost died. Scared the crap out of my family. Me too! And I don't even remember 2 days of it. Anyway, they expect kidney function to return as they heal, but I'm on dialysis until it does. They put a line in my neck for dialysis, which means I can't move my head much. I can't go home with the line in my neck. :( If my kidneys don't improve by the end of the week they will put a line in my chest so I can go home. Would still need dialysis every other day. Well, my lovely renal diet breakfast is here. (Read that as bland, boring, bad, with no salt. Ick!) Then I'm going to sneak outside for some air before I'm tied to the bed for 5 hours of dialysis. I'm missing summer! Take care all. XXOXO, Delinda
