Mini rant - continued hair loss.

Postby midlifemom » Thu Jul 21, 2016 1:24 pm

I haven't had chemo for just over 4 weeks. We know the cancer is growing since it was growing when just on FU. Butt, the hair is still falling out! No fair thAt theres enough chemo still in me to cause hair loss, but its allowing the cancer to grow.
I was hoping for at least a few days of no hair loss before starting the evil drugs again.

Givin' you, your rant creds here
it is yours .. OWN IT !!!!!

( BUTT .... the hair loss is likely due to disruption of hair growth cycle in the follicles as a result of chemo ... SO even tho' there is no mo' chemo around, the follicles still need to reboot, go thru their growth cycle phases before they can sprout any new stubble for you.)

Like I said the rant is STILL YOURS sista' = OWN IT

best wishes

By all means, rant away! If you can't rant here about this kind of stuff then where else can you?! My heart is aching for you as I just finished eight rounds of Folfox and so my already thin hair feels even more thin than I ever thought possible! It really does suck that having cancer alone is enough to wrestle with and then to be dealing with all of the secondary issues that make a big difference with our mental health like actually having hair on our head! We can think of each other every time we shed another hair and know that we're not alone. :)

Pathology report stages me as IIIA (T2N1M0)--1/15 LN detects cancer
2/3/16 chemo port inserted
2/8-6/2/16 8 rounds of Folfox

I totally prepared myself for the fact that I might get breast cancer someday because my maternal grandmother had it. I thought, if I have to lose my breasts, I can get younger, perkier replacements. If I have to lose my hair, I can get better, fully wigs that will look lots better than my sucky hair. As it turned out, I didn't get the breast cancer. I got the colon cancer. All my hair isn't falling out, just enough that I constantly feel it all over me and pull it off my clothes. So I have too much left to wear a wig.

Aint life ironic!!!

<hoping I made you smile at least a little>
