Thank you so much for caring! Just out of curiosity what on earth is "significant looping of the colon"?

Skoliv,
Congratulations!!! That's what I expected in your case!!! So happy for you. I am still confused about my staging. One colorectal surgeon said I am not even stage 1. Others did not really focus on staging. Basically my polyp was the same as yours. But the adenocarcinoma was in the head of the polyp. Stalk completely clear of anything including high dysplasia. I also only had my polyp removed during colonoscopy and was told another one in a year. Going sooner I think. How were you staged?

I also didn't have any imvasion of the submucosa in the colon wall.

Sounds to me you are also a stage 0 - or in situ. I know it is hard to believe but all doctors told me I was cured by removing the polyp. My stalk had cancer cells (not the head - go figure) but it was only in the outer lining and we got good margins. Looking back I wish I had it examined twice just to be sure, but I was told the guy who examined mine is the best around and that I could trust him, my onc even spoke to him on the phone about my case. Anyway, I am now ok, I only need to believe it!

Good luck on your next scope! I had my first 3 months after the polyp removal, Dr wanted to be sure he didn't find anything else! I think I would push for a 6 months follow up at least, but that's just me being nervous, as always.

Hi Skoliv,

Thank you. I feel the same way as you. It is hard ovecome this. But focusing on this will not help us. We just have to try to move on... According NCCN I am not post to have colonoscopy until 1 year. But I am going at the end of this month just to make sure. I assume that after this one in one year again. Good luck to you!!!
