I only know one guy personally who was on vectibix after lung mets and it kept him stable for a bit before brain mets which was rare. Now he is having brain surgery and radiation. He didn't mind the side effects of vectibix when he was on it.

I have lung mets and I was on Erbitux (a very similar drug to Vectibix) and it kept me stable/slight shrinkage for 6 months. More often, vectibix and erbitux are given with irinotecan as a co-therapy - that increases response rates significantly.

Hi
I'm on vectibix in combination with trametinib and dabrafenib. The triplet (anti-braf) has so far been quite effective for my liver mets and peritoneal mets. I can't attribute it to any one of these specifically though.

Ron had 3 vectibix treatments and his skin has REALLY suffered! Extremely dry skin on the back of his neck and his buttocks, which are now somewhat red! Also cracked skin on fingers, with an opening on one of them!

PLEASE can someone tell me a GOOD cream for him? He is using Aquaphor (spelling)? and Amlactin. These have helped but not NEARLY enough!

BTW, I have GREAT news to report! Ron had a CT scan on 7/14 after 6 chemo treatments and the doc said the cancer has dropped WAY down. Not in remission yet, but I am PRAYING he will only need one or two more treatments! But he REFUSES to use vectibix anymore. I DON'T blame him one bit!

Thanks much and God bless!

Husband Ron diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on 3/15/16, right after first colonoscopy at age 68. Had surgery to remove tumor on 3/31/16. Many mets on top and bottom of liver that are not resectable. Started chemo 4/28/16 using Fluorouracil (5-FU) and Irinotecan. Started Erbitux 5/26 on third chemo. Had very good results on 7/14 CT scan!! Treated with Avastin and Capecitabine 8/4/16. CT on 10/18 showed cancer growth. Now on FOLFOX. Placed in Hospice in early December and passed away 12/29/16.

I have been on Erbitux for the past 2 months but the rash has been awful. My doctor said we are going to try vectibix next to see if the rash is as severe. I hope it isn't. I need some relief from this. The only thing that clears it up is a round of steroids. It's awful and painful. I won't even leave me house.

I have been on Vectibix for nearly 7 months. I have ended up in hospital due to the rash causing so much dryness that my body started to shut down.
But in saying that I have gone from Dec 15 being told that the cancer has spread to lymph nodes in my neck and abdomen to March 16 being told I am now NED.
I had another scan in July and still NED.
Its is hard work being on it. If I am not scratching. My skin looks so bad that I don't go out in fear of someone thinking I look like a drug addict, rather than someone battling to stay alive.

I have found the key to staying well on Vectibix is to have regular breaks. every few months. I am still on chemo every two weeks plus the take home bottle for 3 days.

Good luck.
47yrs and mother to a 12 year child with autism
Cancer confirmed 9/23/15
Ext right hemicolectomy 10/13/15
35 Lymph nodes & 6 cancer told Stage 3C.
Nov 15 Oxy, Leucovorin, Flurourcil
CT and PET Scan told that cancer was now in abdo & neck lymph nodes.
STAGE 4 told two days before Christmas 2015.
Oxy, Leucovorin, Flurourcil & Panitumumab
MARCH 2016 NED - currently in remission. Stage 4.
After 3 sessions of Vectibux.
PET & CT SCAN July 16 - Still NED but still on chemo and Vectibix.
