Neulasta fatigue?

Postby AnnClare » Fri Jul 15, 2016 8:32 am

For those of you who get Neulasta the day after your d/c, do you find you're tired? Last cycle (#6) I noticed that the day after my d/c I was okay, went that evening for my Neulasta shot, and then the next day I felt really tired. Same thing this round. Yesterday I was fine, got my shot around 5 PM, and today woke up feeling . . . off. Tired. I had to call in to work & take the day off because I didn't feel strong / energetic enough to perform 3 massage therapy sessions.

I know the main side effect is bone pain (which I have the day after the injection), but anyone else experience fatigue? This pisses me off. I've not had to cancel appointments until now - I feel like I'm a wuss, a ninny-baby. Just didn't feel I had it in me today. :(

I get a Neulasta the day after each infusion....haven't noticed any side effects or pain, but the doc has me taking Claratin the day before and the day of the shot..... I assume this why I have no issue but who knows.

I deal with fatigue from the chemo, it could be a delayed side effect from that.

If you aren't taking Claritin definitely try it. I take one 24 hours before my shot and then 2 more doses the next 2 days. I have not had any issues with the Neulasta since I started the Claritin.

Another vote for Clariton. In rounds 5-8, I had a total of twelve Neulasta shots. I always preceded each one with a single morning dose of Clariton and never had any additional issues.

Thanks for the Claritin suggestion, guys.

Maybe what I was feeling was a delayed reaction to the chemo. It was just odd that I felt okay on Thursday (day after d/c) but crappy on Friday. I was really tired on Wednesday, too, and as always couldn't wait to have the wretched pump removed!

Trying to keep my head up . . . 3 - 5 more cycles to go. Argh.

Hope you're feeling better (((AnnClare)))

I've been given Neupogen, not sure why not Neulasta which seems to last longer, I will have to ask.
Didn't read about the Claritin prior to my last shots, barely slept for 2 nights following the day of the #1 shot because the pain in my hip bones was so bad. Next time I definitely will use Claritin.

Make sure you guys who are going to try the Claritin, make sure it's the Claritin D. It's the one you have to sign for in the pharmacy.
