So sorry that this was the ultimate news, cptango. Coming out of the blue, this is for sure a frightening, confusing and stressful time for you. I will tell you what someone else here told me, and which oddly enough has really stuck in my mind.

You aren't going to die tomorrow. Or the day after that. Or the day after that.

Just breathe, don't read up stats on google (they are mostly all outdated and wrong anyway). There will be some positives in with the negatives as you go. You sound like you have some good resources at Mayo, so focus on writing down some questions that you might have so that you can read it back later when you are able to concentrate more. If you're not sure what questions to ask, there are some really good books out there.

Remember that we're all here for you, and understand completely what you are going through.
