Complete response

Postby mariane » Thu May 26, 2016 6:52 pm

Yesterday and today I had appointments with my oncologist and surgeon. They gave me green light to fly home this Saturday. My blood work looked good. Scar clean. It was my 4th surgery within 10 months. The skin after being opened for times heals slower and even air moving causes burning pain. I am fed up. The bright moment was when my pathology came. I was granted complete response. My resected segments were healthy liver. Everything vanished, not a trace of cancer. I heard it alters my prognosis and was given hope again. I am happy but so drained. Hope to recover soon. We plan to go to Florida in 3 weeks for so much needed vacation. I was granted a miracle,a Holy Grail of cancer response and have to be thankful. I hope the pain goes away because I suffer too much to be happy

I was told that because of this rare situation my HAI pump can be removed 2 years from now.

Thank you!
I have to survive a few more days. I am so happy to be back to Atlanta tomorrow and I imagine myself lying on the deck watching my freshly planted flowers and herbs growing.
I do not know why my cancer vanished at this particular time. I take it. My surgeon said that he would end chemo at this point but knowing my oncologist he is sure she will give me about 2 more months of chemo. I am scanning 4 weeks from now and then we will see.
