Good news!

Postby Delinda2 » Wed May 11, 2016 3:36 pm

Well, the scan last week showed very minor shrinkage in several areas but it was enough for both surgeons to give the green light for surgery on June 14th. It will be a total hysterectomy due to the lesion on my uterus and also take care of the tumor in my sigmoid. The only down side is that they always remind me things could change once they actually see what is really inside there - could just close without doing anything but a biopsy. But, we're going to be positive & expect the best. But, we all know cancer - get some good news & then BAM, it smacks you upside the head just because it can. I went upstairs for chemo after seeing the onc & for the first time had a bad reaction. Chills, eyes running with tears, shaking so much the bed rattled. Scared poor hubby, but thanks to people sharing their stories I knew what was happening. They stopped the chemo, wrapped me in several blankets & hot packs, called the doc, benadryl, etc. After I slept for a couple of hours I was determined to finish so they restarted the chemo at a very slow drip. It was a very long day, but I did it. Now I'm wondering about the 3 months of chemo after surgery. Will this happen again? Have to talk to the onc, but would like to know what others have experienced. Anyone know?
