Looking for some positive stories to pass on

Postby phasot1981 » Sat May 07, 2016 2:38 am

Hello all, this is my first time posting (or even being on for that matter) a colon cancer forum. Colon cancer is a fairly new topic to me but entered my life in sort of a strange way. I found out recently that my ex-wife has it (stage III, mets to the ovaries, had surgery to remove them, and possibly other mets to abdominal wall). Although we are divorced, I still have a tremendous amout of love for her and we have recently re-connected for the first time since we got divorced last summer. I have begun dilligently researching options for treatment, but have been just as focused on instilling hope and encouragement in her. So I wanted to see if any of you have any positive stories that you'd like to share that I can pass on to her. Doesn't have to be long, just survival stories, etc. She is only 31 and is such a beautiful and amazing girl. She has always been an extremely healthy eater, and person in general. I want to do all that I can to help her through this so that she can be the healthy, vibrant girl that I loved for 5 years of my life. Thanks in advance for any input.

Oh that's really sweet that you care. You can see from my mum's signature that despite a difficult diagnoses and a few bumps along the way she is still here doing her thing many years later. Tonight she had all the family round for my son's 14th birthday. We tired her out but it is all good.
I wish her the very best.
Kind regards

My beautiful sister was diagnosed...stage 4 w met to liver. Over 5 years ago. Her oncologist told her she is cured. We no longer even think about cancer..our lives are back to normal. Better than normal because we tell each other "I love you" more often.

I have battled 3 primary cancers since 2007 and I am still here. Its not always been easy, one of the chemos I took isn't called the red devil for nothing.....but I do believe in the power of positive thinking ( for me anyway). I wish the best for you and your ex. Come here anytime for help. This is a wonderful support group.
