4th year cancerversary

Postby teachpdx » Sun Apr 24, 2016 11:53 pm

So today is my four year cancerversary. I told a couple of non cancer people and their reactions were strange. One mentioned that it's better than the alternative (dying) and the other one just seemed uncomfortable. So to all my cancer buddies - Four years cancer-free but not free from the side effects. Dealing with another injury that I don't think I would have had preC.

I've learned so much about myself these last four years and DO have to say I'm a better person - not that I wanted cancer in my life. Still don't know if I'll be able to work a fulltime job due to fatigue. Need to get past my injuries first and they seem to keep happening - damned.

So now I'm making bread from my own starter and running when I can. I refuse to give in to despair and will continue to find the silver lining. I hope you all are enjoying your lives to the best of your ability - life is a precious gift.

Congrats on the 4 years

I am one of those people who think
Cancer did change my life for the better

Still have the neuropathy pain every moment
Of every day (without the meds)
Have other issues which may or may not
Be cancer treatment related
They may not have caused them but
For sure they did not help

Keep on fighting
