You should not be scared AT ALL - my both right and left veins were involved with tumor, not just near. They did it... And you have other veins to drain. So, it will be a piece of cake for them, they do 300 surgeries a year on liver, sweetheart.... Anyway, you are on your way to be cancer free, darling - go celebrate!

Stella,
Thank you so much for your encouragement! To be honest with you I dream to come back to work when everything stabilizes. To work here I need to stuuudddyyy and my chemo brain needs to stay capable to learn :)I need to survive this upcoming surgery and it is my first goal. 401-K needs to wait :)
I am thinking about you every day. I do not fully understand why do you so strongly oppose targeted therapy (Vectibix/Cetuximab). I know that you are fed up with chemo. I only think that since your primary tumor was quadruple negative you should respond really well to these meds. I sent my primary samples to CARIS and their tests showed that I should have super response to these meds. I have not used them, yet. Luckily conventional systemic chemo worked but I would not hesitate a minute to take them. CARIS testes proved correct in my case and your tumor was quadruple negative as was mine so you may have very good response and clean left lobe again. I know side effects - rash , hair loss are not fun but it is worth it. If you follow Tom's blog and facebook there is really going on a lot in immunotherapy and huge money got pumped into it so I think break through will be faster than I expected even a few months ago. I would try it until something better comes out.

Brown Bagger,
Thank you!!!

Dear MK,
It is so encouraging to have the surgery on the same day with Jesse. I would love to meet you. You will probably wait during Jesse's surgery in the great hall with my husband. A nurse comes every hour to inform about the progress of the surgery. I am praying for Jesse every day as well and told my husband to do so.
All the best!

Kandj, MK - I have started Cimetidine again today. Are your husbands Cimetidine believers of not? I have been taking it pre-, during, post my last 2 surgeries.

Dh did take it post surgery (but like 3 weeks post). I honestly think it is anecdotal. They really would need a more through, widespread clinical trial to show its true effectiveness. That said, it won't hurt. DH switched back to protronics though. He was having a lot of trouble with gas and we wanted to see if it was linked to the tagament.

DH saw a different doctor when we were out there in April. I am worried about Dr. K. I am hoping if she is out for medical reasons it is something small and incidental. I pray for all of these doctors. We need them so much, their skills and medical expertise. It is hard, we want to know so badly that she is ok, but it is personal and really not something she needs to tell us. Hopefully she is ok and just needs some time off. As of right now, DH's appointment with her on the 18th is still in her name.

MK, Thank you so much for your prayers! I also remember Jesse and Joe in my prayers. You are close to me.

About Cimetidine. When I joined the forum Cimetidine was recommended to me by several people. DK 37 is taking it, Grouseman and rp1959 recommended it to me. I took it. I think in worst case scenario it is benign and works as placebo. I also treat it a bit llike my "lucky charm". It should not hurt in any way while not on chemo. Dr K neither opposes it nor recommends.

My appointment on May 16th is still with Dr K. I hope I will see her on Monday.

Maybe we could meet sometime on Monday May 16th? I will be the whole day on MSKCC. I have appointments with Dr K, my surgeon and pre surgical tests. It would help to forget about the whole stress.
