Severe Constipation After Colectomy Please Help

Ended up in the ER yesterday morning. I was in the worst pain I think I have ever been in! My back left side and front left side hurt severely. The dr. seemed to think it was a kidney stone and not the constipation. I was sent for a CT which did show a swollen kidney but no stone was visible. The CT also showed a moderate to large amount of stool but no blockage. I was told to follow up with a urologist. In the mean time I think that all of the Myralax and Dulcolax I had taken started to kick in as I was able to go to the bathroom yesterday afternoon and have some diarrhea today. I am feeling much better today but am not fully convinced it was a kidney stone and not the constipation. I'll have to see what the urologist says. If it is a stone then wth haven't I already been through enough???? Geesh!!!!!

Yupp. Me to. Glad you went to the ER. My husband is 9 months after surgery. I'm pretty sure he should Still be on fiber & mirilax but I can't get him to take it. But applejuice does work. I made him drink some the night I posted it.
The surgeon made him quit taking fiber after surgery but the onc put him back on it when the next chemo started. Glad there wasn't obstruction but I hope it's not a kidney stone either
