4 years NED

Postby cecioboe » Mon Mar 21, 2016 10:13 pm

Jim just had his annual colonoscopy and CT scan and we met with his oncologist today. The news was good - no evidence of cancer. And now he is scheduling his deportation procedure! Bye bye, power port. You've been a good friend but it's time to say goodbye.

For anyone just starting this journey, there are many reasons to stay positive. Jim is living proof as a stage 4 survivor.

See you next year, friends. Stay strong.

Ceci -
You have been such a wonderful caregiver to Jim all these years. Now is the time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the music...

At year four, the chance of recurrence bottoms out and at 6 years, you'll be pronounced CURED. I found a paper on that just yesterday!

Stage III cc surgery 1/7/09. 12 tx FOLFOX
Stage IV PET = 1.5cm liver met. HR 4/11/12

14 years since dx and 11 years post liver resection.
Pronounced CURED and discharged by onc

I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?
