I'm stage 3b, and finished Xeloda/Oxi in November (2015). Had my scan in December and there was a suspicious spot on my liver. rescanned with CT and PET a couple of weeks ago and Boom! 7mm spot on right lobe liver considered a met and a few suspicious spots on the lungs. My Onc at Northwestern flat out said, "I want it out. It looks near the front and hope he can do lapro" and referred me to a liver surgeon; I meet with him tomorrow. I've had lots of great support and advice so far (ask about SRS/SRBT, be careful of biopsy requests as seeding may be a concern, etc).
I know lots of people here have experienced this in both liver and lungs. All spots are in measuring 8 mm or less so far-only one met in liver-the other appears to be a cyst.
Not sure what I will hear tomorrow but I am looking for any additional advice/info on
1) questions to ask, etc..
2) if anyone in similar situation followed surgery with chemo
3) recovery (obviously varies with open vs lapro and amount of liver removed with resection.
I'm hearing that I want this out if he will take it out and I'm running with that mindset now.
Thanks all!
