Update on Mom, prayers needed...

Since we made the decision not to do SIRT last Monday, she has gone downhill very quickly. Thursday before last the hospice nurse told us mom had "10 days or less", which despite her condition, was still quite shocking to us. Today is day 13 of that 10 days or less, but I believe she is close.
As recently as this past Sunday (day 10) we were able to get her to her recliner in the living room and she was able to visit, chat, and laugh with family, two of her Aunts stopped by to visit and they are always a hoot! We called them the day before and told them the news from hospice. Monday and especially yesterday and today though, she has become almost incoherent-- unresponsive most of the time, with lucid moments in between when she can look and speak to us.
I took off work all last week to be with her, and she surprised us all by beating the hospice estimate-- and I was able to spend quality time with her and speak with her, which I will never regret. Encouraged by that, I decided to return to work Monday of this week, but she has taken a turn for the worse and they called me mid-day Tuesday saying she was asking for me. I left and was able to speak with her, despite her condition. She told me "youre special", and "I love you".
She was almost totally unresponsive last night, I spent the night by her bedside on a cot and checked on her thoughout the night, giving her sips of water during her lucid moments. Despite her condition, she still has very little pain related issues and most of the ones she does have are in her arms and legs, presumably from being bed-confined. Despite this terrible situation, I consider this to be a small miracle. She has essentially ceased eating and drinking-- it takes quite a bit of effort to rouse her enough just to take a teaspoon of apple sauce with a crushed lortab in it and a sip of water from her sports bottle.
At this point though Im still hoping for a miracle, my prayers are largely focused on her continuing to be essentially pain-free until her passing. Your prayers and thoughts likewise are needed. Thanks to everyone here who has taken the time to support and encourage us.
