Celebrating Seven Years

Postby BrownBagger » Mon Mar 07, 2016 3:48 pm

March 1 was the 7th anniversary of my diagnosis, and I celebrated by driving out to the family tree farm in Wisconsin to cut 25 cords of pine sawlogs. These were diseased trees that need to be salvaged before they died. It's a very small part of our woods. Anyway, I wasn't sure I could do it, because except for moving the logs out of the woods with that big green machine, it's all manual labor with a chain saw. Took me about a week and I feel good. Mom's bank account is about to get a bit bigger, and the woods are healtier. So, not a bad outcome all around.

I've been laying around all winter doing nothing physical, so I wasn't sure I could still do this, but was more than willing to give it a shot. I like some assurance from time to time that cancer hasn't cramped my style too much--at least not so far.

Tomorrow I'm driving back to NY State and I have chemo Wednesday morning.
