You're broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry-go-round
And you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains

And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
And I'll rise up
High like the waves
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousands times again
For you

When the silence isn't quiet
And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we'll take the world to it's feet
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
For you

All we need, all we need is hope
And for that we have each other
And for that we have each other
We will rise
We will rise
We'll rise, ohh ohhh
We'll rise

I'll rise up
Rise like the day
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I will rise a thousands times again
And we'll rise up
Rise like the waves
We'll rise up
In spite of the ache
We'll rise up
And we'll do it a thousands times again
For you ohhhh ohhh ohh ohhh ohh

I echo what Elise has said above, thank you for posting this beautiful song. Sending loving thoughts to all of Theresa's friends and family <3

Each time we lose someone here it’s a real punch in the heart.

Skypuppy was funny, Zen, wise, independent, and always generous with her advice about everything from clinical trials to cattle dogs. I will hold her in my heart forever. Condolences to her family and friends. May your sweet memories of her bring you peace.

As Skypup stated in one of her posts last year, she really didn't want to have a memorial service or a wake:
On May 15, 2015 skypup wrote:A comment on another thread prompted this one. So, my death-facing, death-defying comrades, do you want a memorial or wake after you've, ummm... sublimated? I really don't, I'd rather just slip quietly out the back door, but a friend keeps reminding me that the ceremonies are for the living, not for me.

But it looks like her friends and family wanted people to know, so yesterday morning they published a memorial notice in the local newspaper to tell the story. If you want to read her life story, the link for doing that is here:

http://obituaries.tylerpaper.com/obituaries/tylerpaper/obituary.aspx?page=lifestory&pid=177737318

The photo shown in the notice above is the same photo that Skypup originally used as an avatar when she first registered here on this forum, but that avatar was later changed to the one that most of are so familiar with:

For those of you who didn't see her signature when she first joined the Forum, here is what she said:
6/2008 T3N1M0 erbitux trial, radiation, surgery, FOLFOX, age 52
10/2010 nodal mets, surgery, radiation, FOLFIRI
5/2012 more nodal mets in 3 places, inoperable

For me, Skypup was very special person. She made me feel welcome and made me feel that I belonged here. To me, she was my "Mother Theresa"

I loved how that was written. That is exactly what I would want for me.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?

Thank you for posting this, OSM. She wrote her obituary herself---I don't know if that information has already been shared. For those concerned about her puppies, Sky and Lucy, Theresa had told me that she had arranged for their new home for them while she was still able to do so. I know that their well-being after she had passed worried her considerably. She was content with the arrangements for them that she had made.

Such an incredible woman! I miss her very much.

I've been in shock............unable to post. Of all people, I though Theresa would make it -- through sheer grit and determination.

After reading her obit -- what a life well-lived!

I've missed her presence on the board for a LONG time. Now to know that she is gone..................

Skypuppy, I'm so glad to know that you had so many dear people in your life at the end. I WILL do as you wished -- kindness to people and animals. Hey, the animal part is EASY anyway, you dear girl!!

That is a beautiful obit. I'm so proud of her for dropping out of not one but two PhD programs!

I met her as "Lee", though her given name was Margie and her professional persona over time became, "Marge". Early on in our relationship she got a piece of junkmail addressed to L. Leo Polo. After that she was "Polo" to me. My little niece, at two (more than twenty-five years ago), gave her what might be her most endearing nickname by excitedly scampering to the door and crying, "E's home! E's home!"
