Thread for February scans

Postby lpas » Tue Feb 02, 2016 4:04 pm

I'm up tomorrow morning. CEA is normal but...well, you know. Wish I could say that was enough to make me not worry.

Anyone else scanning this month?

Well, scan is done--thanks to all for the well wishes. Now it's just a waiting game for the results. Thankfully my oncologist is pretty responsive, so am hoping I may hear something yet this afternoon.

Any word yet, Steph? Thinking of you.

**UPDATE**
Just received my results. NED!! Huge sigh of relief. Here's hoping this is the start of a great February for everyone.

I get my CT scan this Friday, results on Monday. Don't know if they're going to check my cea. This is my first scan since being diagnosed. I've been through 6 rounds of chemo so far, and scheduled for the 7th on Monday. We will be figuring out what to do next I guess wether it's surgery or just more chemo.

I'm super distended/bloated/tight right under my rib cage. It's gotten bigger since being dx'd but I really am not in any pain from it. Not sure if it's acities from the tumors on the perinotneum or from an actual tumor in the transverse colon which no one has been able to tell me yet. The bloating only bothers me if I eat too much throughout the day. Bending over has been a big issue as well as trying to reach behind me with the bloating.

I guess I'm just a little bit anxious about what's in there. I've had post nasal drip since before Christmas and everything has been settling in my chest. If I do too much throughout the day my back starts to bother me, but part of that is due to inactivity since I haven't been allowed to work since being dx'd. I can't cough hard enough to get anything out, only because it sends my back into a fit. I had such a bad spasm last night I almost called 911. I'm half wondering if I've got walking pneumonia or if something is in the lower lungs too. I try not to dwell on it too much though.

I'll post again once I find out more. Good luck to everyone else with scans this month!

DH just got Feb scan date of 2-17. Since he is allergic to the dye, they usually do scans without, but they will use the dye this time. Not sure why doc wants to this time, prior scans were clear and blood work is great. He will have to take a pre scan dose of prednisone and Benadryl. CEA had been good, but, you know, scanxiety, with a double dose of worry he will have a reaction to the dye. He doesn't see doc until March 10 so I'm assuming she will call if scans show something. I hate cancer.

Ipas I called yesterday because I couldn't wait until the 22nd. Scan shows no measurable disease! I haven't read radiologists report yet, I'll get that when I go see my oncologist on the 22nd. I'll trust her for now though. She hasn't taken my cea but will on 22nd. Apparently up to 5 will be normal at my hospital. Congrats to you on your results!
