Shrinkage

Postby BrownBagger » Thu Jan 28, 2016 9:52 am

I don't believe I've ever had a scan that showed shrinkage, until this last one. Kemeny said "This is a good scan." Until now, it's been more a case of keeping everything stable and cutting out or blasting anything that grows, hoping it doesn't come back. So this is encouraging to me. Too early to tell if it's a trend, but if I need something to feel good about until my next scan two months from now, this will do. Funny, I had no scanxiety going into this one yesterday. I had an odd, unusual confidence about it. Weird.

Anyway, the place was mobbed. Kemeny went down to Argentina for her birthday last week, then got hung up in all the storm-related airline delays. So the waiting room at E. 53rd St was packed with Nancy's Kids.

Congratulations, BB. Amazing that you are going so strong after 7 years...and long it may continue

Can I ask- have you had a change in treatment?

best wishes

Wow--great news!

Do you think it's an immune response to the RFA? I seem to recall reading somewhere that that can happen.

I've been on Irinotecan, Erbitux and Xeloda for the past four years. Not sure if the concentrations or mixes have changed, but the basic protocol hasn't. Gets easier every round and it appears to be working, so that's a good place to be if you're me.
