another anniversary

I had my colon cancer removed on this day in 1998, end year 18 of survival start year 19, my best wishes for those of you still in treatment ,Ron.
dx 1/98
st 3 c 6 nodes
48 sessions 5Fu/levamisole
no recurrence cea <.5
numerous l/t side effects of chemo

Clear 5 year scans 11/21/19- Considered cured! :)

Congrats...those are the stats we love to hear :D, provides so much hope to many...
Dad diagnosed Sept 14 Stage IV. Age 57yrs. Transverse colon - spread to Retroperitoneal, Mesenteric & Supraclavicular lymph nodes. Folfiri commenced Sept 14.
April 15 - Bowel resection
August 15, stable scan
Feb 16 - No signs of cancer on scan...stop chemo & scan in 3 month
Scan April 16, Crazy growth to stomach, lymph nodes & multiple mets to liver. Commencing Folfox.
August: chemo not working. Stopped treatment.
September 3rd 2016 peacefully left this earth.

DH T2 N1b M0. 3/15 positive nodes.
Stage IIIA moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma.
Tumor size 6 cm.
Left hemicolectomy 10/26/15.
FOLFOX 11/30/15 to 5/2/16, full 12 cycles.
10/3/16 CT scan clear.
11/10/17 CT: "Focal opacity along the left lower lung, 7 mm. Two small peripheral opacities along the right lower lobe, 2 to 3 mm. A few small to mildly prominent left-sided central mesenteric nodes, up to 13 mm.
June 2019: NED.
2020: NED 5 years. 4 mm lung nodule on CT

Ron, that is so great. We have a mustang, stick shift from 1998. Still Love that car thus understand the era you were in. Just recently this past Monday, we updated our 1999 Expedition for a 2016 Explorer. That Expedition helped raised 2 kids, was a member of the family, but needed too much in repairs ($5000.00-10'000.00), thus time to update. Love the new car, honor the old car, lov the new.

I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 12 years NED). Is this real life?
