4.3 years cancer free

Postby Jimswife » Thu Jan 21, 2016 8:55 am

Latest ct results from yesterday still confirm no evidence of metastatic disease !! 4.3 years now , in 2011 2016 seemed so long away , going for the big 5 now , beyond grateful and promised to come back to this site each year to post the "good news" to offer hope to the Newley diagnosed as I was offered hope here from people when we first started this journey .
Victoria , Wife to Jim age 43 dx oct 2011
Stage 3 cc with 2 out of 21 positive lymph nodes
Folfox starts nov 11-may 12
All scans and bloods since surgery confirm no evidence of disease
Hoping to stay ned forever .... Fingers crossed !!!!!!!

Fantastic! As you well know your husband and I walked a similar path at similar times. Hopefully I'll get a good 5 year scan that he can emulate! :)
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 12 years NED). Is this real life?

That's wonderful news! I remember how anxious you were when Jim was diagnosed and how your were searching for positive stories. I remember that you PM'd me. I'm now 6 1/2 years since my diagnosis. Great of you to post about Jim's progress. I'm sure that there are newbies who will benefit from this just like you and me. May he stay NED always xx
