In the hospital

Postby DarknessEmbraced » Sun Jan 03, 2016 3:30 pm

Still in the hospital but may be getting out tomorrow. I've been in an isolation room because they were worried about me having an infection. Everyone has to wear gowns and gloves sometimes they wear face masks and I can't leave the room. I have disposable trays, ect.. The sigmoidoscopy showed inflammation above where my bowels were reattached after my colon resection. The infection test came back negative but they are waiting on a parasite test. The doctor thinks it's unlikely that I have parasites. The other possibilities for my colitis(inflammation of the colon) are inflammatory bowel disease like crohns's disease or recurrence of my cancer. Biopsy results are pending and will show whether it's inflammatory bowel disease or cancer. I was on a clear liquid diet for a few days then a full liquid diet. I haven't been having anymore bleeding but my colon is still inflamed. The doctor put me on iv prednisone 3 times a day and said I would have prednisone when I go home. I'm not having as much pain as before and haven't required painful dilaudid shots in the back of my arms. My stomach has been very distended daily. I've had two migraines and was given iv medication last night. I saw an aura last night after my migraine. My boyfriend visits often.
