Folfiri Effectiveness Scan

Postby meatie » Mon Dec 21, 2015 1:14 pm

My mother is on her third round of folfiri + avastin (we are at the infusion center as of this writing) for the a recurrence in a para-aortic lymph. The onc said that a ct scan could be taken after 4-6 rounds to see if folfiri is working. When we asked exactly how many rounds, the onc said it depends.

For those whose had folfiri and had a ct scan done mid-set (a set = at least 12 rounds of infusion) to check for chemo effectiveness, how many rounds were done before the ct scan?

I get a ct every 8 weeks, so every 4 treatments.
Butt I have mets in lungs and lymph nodes, so maybe that makes a difference?

My husband is on Folfiri with Avastin and had a check up scan after 4 infusions (infused every 2 weeks). Just had his scan today which showed his involved lymph nodes were shrinking. His doctor plans on scanning in another 4 treatments.
