And hey thanks for asking. It's not like I can talk about it to family. I am the strong one. And 'friends' didn't even ask how the appointment went. Feels kind of lonely.

Man that sucks. The CEA level on my last test was 2.4 and my onv wants to retest in three months instead of the usual six. My CEA was 1.6 at dx so the doc told me it would not be a good marker for me. What was your CEA at dx? They watch the trend going forward. Hopefully your new mass is benign.

Well. Sorry about that. I'm pretty sure friends don't really know how bad this crap is & the worry that comes with it.

Batmom,
So sorry you didn't get the hoped for results.
Your comment about soon being hollow struck a chord with me - both the literal and figurative interpretation of being hollow.

Sorry also your friends don't ask about your results. I think we have all experienced that. A good friend of my husband actually told me he didn't know how best to respond to the news of my diagnosis, that he didn't want to say the wrong thing. I admired his honesty. I think that's how many folks feel - they just don't know what to say. (I told him the appropriate response is "that sucks!").

See about a second opinion. It might not take as long as you think although I know waiting any length of time is difficult.

Let us know how it goes. ((Hugs))

Ugh--I was really hoping you'd get some reassuring news.

How big is the mass? Do you have any history of endometriosis? I have a cyst on my right ovary. It was there at the time of my original surgery but the doctor left it alone because he said it looked like an endometrioma. The last few months I've been having some pelvic pain, so they did an ultrasound and it's gotten 50% bigger. Nonetheless, my GYN surgeon still seems pretty confident that it's endometriosis, so I've decided against surgery for now. Hopefully this is what yours turns out to be.
