My favorite time of year

Postby justin case » Fri Nov 20, 2015 9:06 pm

I love this time of year! All the Health Insurance company's get together, and see just how much further they can add to your continued regression into bankruptcy. My goodness, in just one year, it's hard to find a PPO, ( if you can get one), the cost is up 41 percent. I have no money left for Santa's cookies and milk

No milk or cookie money here either. I thought I heard insurance was going up that much. I'll be

Maybe I should put this in the bitch thread, butt I think it fits here also. I see that United Healthcare has lost more than $400,000,000 on its Obamacare policies, and threatened to pull out of the ACA. So, the Obama administration has agreed to a taxpayer bailout of poor UHC. aarrrggghhhhhh Of course overall, UHC is a very profitable company.

Mr. Case, since you had to give up milk and cookies, I sincerely hope you can still afford beer and TP.

If my wife continues with her need for a new stove, (she is afraid to turn ours on, although it works fine) I may have to switch to corn liquor, for more fortitude
As for the insurance problem, I just may have to go with an HMO, which is just a little more pricey, than my mortgage payment

I think you need to move up north!! Things are so much simpler here. I feel for all of you having to deal with this bs and cancer on top of it.

The government loves to give money away to those who don't have any, with the promise of a better life
They sometimes if not all the time forget who's money it is, and my life just isn't getting better paying for those who don't work, or think standing on a corner asking for money, is more profitable, than going to work

We just had our first big snowfall. It's gorgeous.

Yeah, later this morning I'm going to have to get out there and shovel it. It was a wet snow so it will be heavy. But until then I'm just going to drink my coffee and look at the glistening forest around me. It's the kind of thing that makes me happy to be alive.

Snow is beautiful. Cancer is horrible.

Best,

OG

My hubby's company just switched TO United Healthcare. We wont pay anymore per month for the policy but pay a lot more out of pocket and higher deductible. Ugh. It is a PPO but I have to find out if my docs are all in network. Poor Santa will get quite svelte as fewer people can afford to be as generous with milk and cookies.

Unfortunately, growing up in Midwest cities, once you shovel the snow, a snowplow comes along, and buries your vehicle, so you can do it all over again

Mr. nut is retiring at the end of the year. The good news we can get insurance and won't be denied because of a pre-existing condition. The bad news is that it sucks and is no where as good as the policy we had before. We could continue on COBRA but that is pricy. No milk and cookies for us either.

Weather-wise, it is a pleasant 68 degrees here, and I'm making a roasted acorn squash and kale salad for lunch.
