MMR deficiency and Response to PD1

Postby Laurettas » Thu Oct 29, 2015 2:21 pm

Has this been discussed on the forum: http://www.clinicaloncology.com/ViewArt ... a_id=34013

It is rather bittersweet for me since very possibly Jake would have responded well to this drug since he had signet ring cell cancer and often that type has this deficiency. But for anyone else who has this rare type of colon cancer, check out this new drug!!

I am lynch+, which makes mmr deficient and thus msi-high. I am currently on a similar trial the article talks about...a pdl-1 and avastin trial.

I've responded and been stable for 3 scans now...so all this stuff they are discovering is translating into real results! I'm walking proof, lol.
7/15 DX'd at age 28 w/stage 4 crc. Met to mesentery. Also lynch+
7/15 right hemicolectomy
8/15 started 12 rounds FOLFOX.
2/15 Nanoknife. Gallbladder removal. resections. Complications landed me in ICU for 1 week. 8 blood transfusions.
5/15 Nanoknife failed. Enrolled in phase 1 trial of MPDL3280a (Atezolizumab) & Avastin.
7/15 CT shows I am responding to trial drug. All tumors and nodules shrinking.
8/15 CT scan shows stability of all nodules and target tumor
10/15 CT scan shows continued stability.

Yes - this info is HUGE. Needs to be known by 100% of CRC patients.

Fully explained here:
