My lastest

Hello all,

Monday I was admitted into the hospital with the worst pain I have ever had. I was released today under hospice care. IV pain meds at home, hospital bed, and around the clock nursing if need be. Thanks to everyone who has helped me through this journey. I have finally had "the talk" with my daughters. Hardest thing I have ever done. We are all at peace. Mom is still a work in progress. She can't sleep and won't look for help. If you are praying person, pray for her. Good thoughts also appreciated. Mike Golic, host of ESPN's Mike & Mike, actually tweeted me his good thoughts. I thought it was cool. Anyway, I will keep y'all updated as long as I possibly can. My wife has taken a leave of absence from work to be with me. That means the world to me. For all you out there, keep fighting. I don't regret any treatment I've had to prolong my life. Love all my CT friends. Peace!

Praying for Strength for all of You. Don't be a hero...take the pain meds when you need them. Hospice will be a tremendous support for you and your family.

Away from the dwellings of care-worn men
The waters are sparkling in wood and glen—
Away from the chamber and dusky hearth
The young leaves are dancing in breezy mirth,
Their light stems thrill to the wild wood strain,
And youth is abroad in my green domain.....

Hi,

Thanks for posting your update. Your sense of peace and acceptance of your situation originally had me in awe - and has since motivated me to find that. Peace for myself. I'm not quite there yet, but making improvements. Thanks for the inspiration.

I wish for you some more moments to make sweet memories with your family. Don't worry, mom will come around in her own time. Sending you peaceful and pain free thoughts as your soul embarks to its next destination.

So sorry about having to speak of this to your precious daughters. Now it is time for yourself and your wife and children. You can't worry about your mom, she will do what ever she will do. As a mom who said goodbye to her only son I know the difficulty in that path. If she is willing I would gladly speak to her.
Do and say what's on your heart, hospice will do their part, you are in good hands with a wonderful wife who will be with you. Prayers and good wishes that she can be there for you and take care of herself through this journey.
For you, lots of pain free days, gorgeous sunsets and strength to do what you want to do.
