Thank you

Postby Skoliv » Mon Sep 21, 2015 9:19 pm

Last year, in December, I found a in situ carcinoma in my sigmoid. I went from a really light bleeding in stool (wasn't even sure if it was really blood) to an FOBT positive, to a sigmoidoscopy to a colonoscopy to find out I had cancer at 29y (after thyroid cancer at 22). My baby was only 18 months old. All the way I found people here ready to hear and help me, despite going through much tougher things than me. I was so scared.
From my very first symptom I found great advice here and that motivated me to push further after my doc said it was probably nothing. My uncle died when he was only 37, he probably had an in situ when he was my age. Anyway, I have had two follow ups since and I am aparently clean. Genetic exams came back fine aswell.

I really think this website saved my life. I am so grateful.

Thank you all

I wasn't here then, so your thank you isn't really meant for me, but I always think it's special when people take the time to post a thank you and I wanted to acknowledge that.

So glad you found this site.

Congratulations and stay well!

Thanks for the update. I followed your posts skoliv when you were on before! Glad you're doing well! I'm 35/f. I had a colonscopy in Dec. 2014 (due to blood in stool), and my GI doctor found I had a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma polyp in my sigmoid colon. Fortunately it was benign, but I will need more regular colonoscopies as well. This is a great website, that's for sure. Prayers that all of your future colonoscopies are clean....
