Good news thread

Postby Nik Colon » Mon Sep 14, 2015 12:26 am

So, my last tx with steroids and 5fu is on the 22nd! CT in October, and then just hope future scans stay that way. They said about 3 month off iri til hair gets full again and it's been over a month I believe! Can't wait til most of this is over, beside the future scans and such. Hopefully the fatigue will get less over time also :) Excited!

Anyone have any good news, personal or anything?

We can get through this!

So happy to see that your almost over the hump. Hope your hair comes back normal. With my hair, each strand seems to have its unique hair style. I have to keep it super short or I start looking like a mad scientist !! I will be 6 years stage 4 on the 18th.

I was on FOLFOX, I was about 6 months out when I got a new hair style. I was real easy to see chemo hair vs my normal hair.

Congratulations on getting this far. It is a major step

Great news, I'm so happy for you. My good news tidbit is that I've got a surgery consult sept 24 at Vanderbilt university hospital! I'm hoping the surgeon, who is a transplant surgeon, will say yes I can do your surgery! Will update once I've consulted with him.

Congrats to all who replied with their good news and the long time survivors! Anyone else have good news?

Woohoo to positive threads! Just to add to the energy, my mom is doing really well. So well, that she kind of has her own life again. For quite a while, I needed to see or talk with her everyday due to Dr appointments, prescriptions, side effects, etc. Now she's handling most of it all on her own. She even went to the last dr appointment without me (the first onc appt ever). He said to her, "I don't even need to ask how you're doing. You must be doing fine if your daughter let you come by yourself!" Lol. Here's to more and more good news throughout the board!
