Admitted for bleeding

Postby abby65 » Fri Sep 04, 2015 7:58 pm

Well, I am still searching for answers and know that I probably won't get them until I see my surgeon on Tuesday. I have a tumor that is growing in the wall of my cecum that they can't biopsy until they can get in there to do surgery. Wednesday my symptoms got much worse. I started to have diarrhea Wednesday night and lots of bright red blood in it with clots, plus severe pain and vomiting. I went to our local emergency room and was then taken by ambulance to a bigger hospital where my gastro surgeon is about an hour an a half away. I was admitted into observation and just got released today. The bleeding stopped on it's own and they finally got the vomiting and pain under control with meds. What surprised me the most was that they did not do the surgery or anything while I was there, they said that the goal was to stabilize me and since the blood stopped on its own I would not be considered emergent. Which I guess I understand but my surgeon did at least come and see me before I left and I will see her Tuesday morning to find out more about my surgery and actually get it scheduled, I hope it doesn't take another 4 weeks to get scheduled.
