The Judge Movie and Something The Lord Made Movie

Postby andy21 » Mon Aug 31, 2015 2:04 pm

I recently saw "the Judge" Movie.
If you haven't seen it, please see.

It's the first mainstream movie that has one character with Colon Cancer.
Hope this does not give away the suspense of movie, but I would like more people to watch that movie as it makes so much sense to us.
I do hope more movies have colon cancer themes so awareness increases.

Another movie that I saw was about Dr. Vivien Thomas.

After that movie I am convinced that there is a lot of difference between a good surgeon and a great surgeon.

I agree with Andy 21 about surgeons. Your prognosis is going to be as good as your surgeon. We need to chose carefully and not just jump in and take who is available or in your area. Check them out on the internet.

Yes! Because doing that made me wind up with a permanent colostomy, which I very much dislike, STILL. If I had used a specialist, might have avoided that outcome.

Something The Lord Made

This movie is available I think on Netflix streaming and please watch it if you can.
Highly recommended and will surely reiterate that some surgeons have hands of God.

Will look for that one. The Judge is only on DVD, and as I am on DD's account, can't do those.

Yup, it's who they practice on to develop their skill. Rats and rabbits don't cut it!

Thomas' expertise continued to be felt for decades as he used dogs to train surgical residents who later progressed to important positions at prestigious medical schools. He occasionally assisted a veterinarian in a nearby animal hospital practice where he used his skills in canine anesthesia and surgery to save lives of dogs with spontaneously-occurring surgical problems.
