For several months, I was on an Avastin + Erbitux regimen. The Erbitux gave me a horrible rash on my face, scalp, chest and shoulders. I stopped using Erbitux in mid-April, and the rash is much less than it used to be, but still visible. I still look like I have an acne/rosacia problem. I expected it to go away after a couple of weeks when I stopped taking it, and now more than three months later I still have this rash! I'm beginning to wonder if it's permanent scarring. Has anyone had an Erbitux rash that eventually went away? How long did it take?

Thanks,
Rodney

Hi Rodney,

As you may recall, my brother was also on Erbitux with the nasty full body rash. He too has been off of erbitux since the end of April. He does have scarring but it seems to at least be getting lighter over time.

Not an easy thing to deal with however, his skin looks a ton better than it did four months ago. Just like you, I think we all assumed it would just go away but I think it's just going to take time.

Hang in there buddy...

How are you doing/feeling otherwise?

Best wishes,

Tracey

Wow, Traybug, quick reply!

Other than the rash, things are good. I feel great for the most part ... so far as I know I am still in remission, since last Sept. I have a PET scan tomorrow to see if I'm still in remission, but I think the results will be good.

Thanks for asking. How's your brother?

Rodney

Hey Rodney,

He had clean scans as of four weeks ago. He feels great and his bloodwork looks good. We are thankful that this far into the journey he has had great success.

Let me know how your PET scans go. I know how nerve racking it can be...even if you feel well.

I'm thinking of you...
