I'm so happy the tumor was benign and the lymph nodes were clear as well! Congratulations! Take it slow during recovery. It can take a long time for you to get your strength back. Hope you can get your pain under control. I found a heated gel pack/heating pad helped with cramping.

Thank you! I will start in a heating pad. Maybe you can let me know what you think of my problem with feeling such low and sad thoughts.
I find myself getting teary eyed at times, almost like a depression. I think I am so overwhelmed with this long recovery and having to be out of work for so long, just worried about things in general. Please don't get me wrong, I am now a believer in miracles but I don't know why I am slipping into this depression.

If I were in your shoes, I would NOT F**=...mess with cancer. I'm only a caregiver\observer, but I would go for the more aggressive treatment if in ended up in patient shoes. BUTT, remember...none of us are doctors. Get multiple professional opinions. We are chiming in our $0.02...and some (specifically mine) are probably only worth that. Welcome...wish you didn't have to find us.

Hi Flower,
Great news about the polyp and nodes being benign. I see that you are not yet 3 weeks out from your LAR. This is very early days. You said yourself that the op took 5 hours so this is major surgery and has a big impact on the body. I'm guessing that you most likely had a considerable amount of pain meds afterwards, and these, combined with the trauma from surgery, 5 hours' worth of anaesthetic, and the stress of a possible cancer diagnosis, all take their toll. It's pretty normal to feel teary and flat after what you've been through. However, if it persists, perhaps you could talk with your doctor about a referral for some counselling and/or medication.
Wishing you all the best,
Jan
