People Do...

People with Stage 4 Colon Cancer do survive.

Just checking in to say "Hey" and spread a little hope around. I was diagnosed 8 years ago this month. I am still living and breathing.

Stage IV: dx 8/07 at 39.. colon & liver resection & rt ovary
17 rounds of folfox.
12/08 ovary tumor removed with HIPEC & folfiri w/Avastin
9/11 liver resection # 2 followed by chemo
NED

DF July 2014 Dx Stage IVB CC at 50 yo
Aug 2014 - Ileostomy and started Folfiri w/ avastin
Oct 2014 - Bilateral pulmonary emboli, started on warfarin
July 2015 - Small bowel puncture, PEG tube placement
**Ongoing battle!

Hi Jen! I visit this site randomly these days, and today I am thrilled to see your post. I don't know if you remember but we talked on the phone a few years ago, as I was deciding on HIPEC. You gave me great advice and made me feel hopeful. So thank you for that!! I am glad you are doing well!! I've been well too...a few recurrences that I've dealt with and am dealing with, and living a happy life. I wish you continued good health and happiness!

FOLFOX 3 cycles = total of 8
Illeostomy reversal 4/8/15
Clean scans x2, clear colonoscopy 9/15

Thank you for posting...being stage 4, I've just made it to 2 years NED. Now I question what happens next....so happy to read another S/4 making it past 5 years. It does give hope to others.

Thanks for the encouragement, didn't get good news from the surgeon today, from the meeting, I got in the back of my head I'm in more trouble than they want to say since the tumors are so close to the hepatic portal. But your post has snapped me out of that morbid thought. Thanks so much!
