Anal fissure

Postby teachpdx » Fri Aug 07, 2015 11:12 am

Dear Rectum-free members -(no offense to those who DO have a rectum)

So it turns out I have an anal fissure. My surgeon who did my LAR gave me a couple of meds (one for relaxing the sphincter the other for pain) and made it appear as if it was no big deal. I'm trying to get some work (summer off for subs & no unemployment) and not sure how much activity I should do. Noticed that squatting/lifting/sitting all cause pain so I got him to give me a note to say that I shouldn't lift more than 15lbs or sit for an extended periods of time.

So I searched "anal fissure" here and it appears that it IS a big deal when you don't have a rectum. Any advice and am I making more of it than is necessary? Love any advice/stories. Peace Kristi
