Removed 7.2cm tumor and 12" of colon, had perforated the back of the colon. Doctor said it had abscessed and created a bag that kept things in. His estimate was stage 3. He said there was some adhesion to my appendix, so he took out the appendix too.
Path report came today, surgeron was surprised. 0 of 27 nodes have cancer. Diagnosis is pT3 pN0. Margins all good (3cm). MMR were all good. Surgeon said "I am certain I got it all".
Oncologist came by shortly after I got results and strongly recommended chemo... We discussed my neuropath. He suggested, instead of using platinium based, that I use Capecitabine.
I was surprised that the said he didn't think I have much to gain from the onctypedx.
Feeling like a just got a miracle. Trying to keep a realistic view. I would be grateful for the input of this forum. I am planning on getting two other professional opinions. One he recommended, one from an independent doctor.
One last thought. Over the last three days in the hospital, I was more prepared and capable of underrstanding and dealing with what I was facing. I know that was from the information I've recieved and read here. you guys were on my mind... Best to the rest of you as we all fight on - hope you get stupid lucky too.
