OT … BUTT maybe not so much !

Postby CRguy » Mon Aug 03, 2015 12:10 am

How do you recognize a good friend who is always "there" for you and doesn't play into what you might want to hear …
BUTT supports you anyway and always tells you what you NEED to know ?????????????????????

How do you recognize the sharing and caring from a friend who has confided about his father's passing and was there for you when your own father passed ???????

How do you recognize the contribution to so many other CRC patients, by the sharing of his own personal experience… with humour, great wit, compassion, common sense, determination and indomitable spirit ??????

The best way I can recognize this kind of friend here, is to dedicate my 7,800th post on this very forum where I met a great buddy
.. .TO Eric, whom we all know as BrownBagger.

We have talked about so many things offline, which remain offline, but have meant so much to me, I just wanted to "give back" some MEGA posi VIBES to ma' bro'.

The reason I'm dedicating this post to BB is because I was clocking his biking miles to the 10,000 mark … all the time he was a CRC patient … surgery, chemo and all that shit !!!! AND then he posts 100 rounds of chemo ???? excuse me !!!!!

SO …. milestones are meant to be celebrations.

IF 7,800 posts is a celebration …… I celebrate my best buddy on this forum.

Eric the BrownBagger
YOU da' MAN buddy

Harmony and thank you for being my friend through all of "this funky shit "
Yeah you know wot I'm talking' 'bout … on and off forum...

Thanks CR Guy

Really good thought and comments and totally understand where you are coming from in regards to our mutual friend BB, so what better way to dedicate my 1,000th post than to dedicate it to BB.

BB, just like CR Guy, and so many others of us here I found your presence hope giving when I first joined this forum, and I still find it hope giving now that I have been here for 2 1/2 years. You have supported, inspired, and giving so many others hope. You started me running seriously again, so much so in fact, that I am trying to convince my wife to do the 2016 NYC Marathon just so I can go to NY and see you. OK, the Marathon is one part, but I am just looking for any excuse to get up to upper NY State, and get my hands on some produce from your garden, although being 06 Nov 2016 it may not happen as it could be too cold for veggies. Convincing my wife is going to be the hard part!

Eric, you continue to inspire me and I look forward to another 10,000 miles & 100 more chemo infusions.

Nice post CRguy. Both you and Eric/Brownbagger have shared so much and helped so many. I thank you both for your devotion/what you bring to the forum and obviously the people around you.

CR..very nice tribute.

I have a habit of looking at everyone's profile to see who's Stage 4 and where they are with their cancer. BB & ( CR ) shows me there's hope in getting past5 years. You guys are my inspiration. When I see BB's picture of the bike....I think here is someone on the go, not willing to slow down for this rotten disease. Then I read his motto...to live for today. Well I'm learning to live for today and not worry about tomorrow and so far it's working for me.

Thank you for being your strength, inspiration and guidance.

And to all the veterans on this board..that have contributed their knowledge so that the new ones have hope...

Keep on pedaling.. :D

Eric, keep clocking those miles on your bike, growing veggies, chopping more wood than a woodchuck -- and inspiring loads of people (as a side effect). You are wonderful!

Given the nature of the topic and average lifespan on this board (sorry to say it, but it's true), it humbles me to be reminded that CRGuy and me go way back…and we're still here!

And as mods, we have a great working relationship in addition to our friendship. I know we're both trying to figure out a way to meet up at some point. Probably want to put the Mounties and/or the National Guard on high alert for that one. And maybe some mops and buckets, as I'm sure some tears will be shed for our late brothers and sisters.

Julie, the garden's doing great, I just finished up woodcutting (here in NY at any rate) for the season, and the bike beckons. I get my 100th chemo treatment on Monday, then off to Wisconsin for a week of more woodcutting, wine drinking, woods walking, etc.

I love you all. And you know it.

CRGuy and BB, dan and I both appreciate all that you do to encourage and support us. Even though we are really just into this journey we have a great insight on what could happen along the way. Knowing we can count on you to answer any goofy questions we might have makes us feel worthwhile as a peron. No judgments from either of you. We worry about you and everyone on this forum. We all have a bond that really can't be explained. Sometimes I go on site for info, sometimes to check up on people and sometimes for entertainment. Priceless!

BB you are a credit to all survivors in fact to the whole human race. A down to earth gentleman whom I have never heard a negative comment made against. One hundred treatments is a fitting memorial to you mate. One of the things that saddens me with these sites is that I am so far away at the arse end of the world that I will never get to meet any of you in person. I really wish I could. All the best to you mate I hope there is an amazing treatment waiting in the not to distant future and it has your name on it, Cheers Ron.

Brownbagger and CRGuy give us the best of what this board should be. I make sure to never miss one of their posts. Whenever either one of them takes a break their absence is felt profoundly. I also go way back with these two and I hope we all go forward for many years to come.

I hope so too, Ann. We've been through a lot together. You told me how to get in and out of Manhattan, and I've always been so grateful for your advice. Nothing to it, but I was pretty nervous the first time I drove down there. Your directions made it so much easier. Hope you're enjoying this remarkably cool summer weather.
