Thank you all. She appreciated all of you so much. You were the ones who knew, more than anyone, what it was she went through. You were her first real relationships on the internet and from you she went on to use Facebook more and more. I can't thank you enough for the comfort, support and courage you offered her. She truly loved you guys. I felt like some of you lived with us the way she talked about you. Words cannot describe how empty our house is without her. Know that she made her own choices, even down to the last conscious morning when she refused to go to the Hospice House. Up until a few days from the end she was on very little pain medication because she didn't want to be drugged. She was one tough cookie.

Another thing. She powered through these last months. I have a picture of her pushing her wheelchair up the hill into the entrance of the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. I can't tell you how many times I tried to get her to sit, rest and let me get it that she didn't; she had to do it, get it for herself. She was remarkable, stubborn and loved.

I strongly suspect that stubbornness and resiliency is what enabled her to do so well for so long.

Thank you, Pollo, for sharing your life with us all. You will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. Love you.
