Sour throat???

Today it is was first day for chemo and radiation.i have Xeloda in the morning and evening - 1650 mg for each. Metomicin infusion And radiation.i fill ok,but around evening I founded I have a sour throat and it fill like my mouth it sour ,in throat I have few yellow dots. What I need to do? It a first day only??????

it is feel different, my bottom legs and hands , feels like I have weights on,tingling.it is not painfull It is discomforted. And I notify in my lips I have small wight dots. I know it only first day but maybe because I have anemia already. I know I not supposed to have this in my first day, but I do, it is not my imagination, I can handle this , but itis scare what next?

I hope you are feeling better. I don't have any answers for you tho. My husband is the one on chemo but not the same ones you are on.

My mom got mouth sores on Xeloda. Hers didn't happen until the 2nd week in a 14 day cycle. And she didnt get any during her 5 day radiochemo cycles pre-surgery. But when she did get them, they started as whitish spots on the inside of her mouth right at the edge of her lips. Call your oncologist. Here, there is someone on call 24/7. Ask about some prescription mouth wash to keep it from getting worse. Sorry things are hitting you so quickly!

Sorry about your mouth sores. I found it was best to try to prevent them rather than treat them afterwards.

For prevention, many people find a salt and baking soda rinse, 4-5 Times/day really helps. You can mix 1000 ml water with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp baking soda. Swish and spit. You can make a smaller quantity of course.

When you already have sores, you can ask for a prescription of 'magic mouthwash'. This numbs your mouth for a short time, allowing you to eat without pain.
