I can't seem to find too much on the forum about the clinical trial TAS-102. All other chemo treatments were no longer working for my husband so he was put on the trial 1 month ago. His CEA before starting was 442 which is high for him. After 1 round of the trial it jumped to 1307 which is simply shocking to us. On the trial he takes 8 pills a day for 5 days and then has the weekend off before starting another 5 days. He then got 2 weeks off before starting another cycle and that is when the CEA was checked. They did a CT scan before the trial started and planned on doing another scan after 3 cycles. I know it's only been 1 cycle but we are not feeling hopeful about the treatment. We are hoping to see if they can do a PET scan and include the skull since he has had more headaches than usual over the past few months.
Can anyone else lend some knowledge about their experience of TAS-102?
Thank you,
Tracy
