VERY interesting.
I saw this concept in other cancer types, when I was searching clinical trials for hubby. I had hoped to find one using this viral technique, but none could be found. This group is in Canada, backed by NCCN and sounds cutting edge. I hope it works!

Thanks for sharing,
Vicki

Saw this on the news last night, very interesting. Crossing fingers that they are on to something here. A few flu like symptoms would be a cake walk after the chemo you all have done!
DD to 81 year old father
dx 24/07/14 iv cc mets liver/lung
folifiri started 19/07/14
shrinkage of all mets
growth in the liver,started folfox/avastin 80% 13/01/16
reduced to 70% due to side effects 27/01/16
First scan on folfox shows shrinkage in lungs, but liver just stable
6 rounds of vectibix-fail. 3cm growth and new spots showing Waiting for panel recommendations

My memory is a little fuzzy on this, BUTT- if I remember right- the actual symptoms can be pretty drastic- matched with pretty remarkable results

Cheers to something phenomenal n the horizon,
Vicki

It will be interesting to see. The clip that I watched on the news, there was a 75 year old women with anal cancer that is taking part. She said the symptoms were flu like and easily managed, so thinking that sounds very promising. The part I don't like is that I read that it takes 2 years for the trial to be completed then a year for them to go over the data that they collect before we get anywhere with this one. I doubt that this will ever help my father, BUTT it will hopefully help me and my siblings. The 3 of us that have had colonoscopies have all had polyps removed. I am due to go again right away. One brother being stupid and not going, his choice I guess. How many of us on here have to worry about our children because of this damn disease? Cross our fingers and pray it has some success!
