Question about symptoms

Good afternoon, I apologize in advance if this is not the place for questions like this, i wasn't sure where to go. Anyways, I've had ulcerative colitis for 8 years and two months, it's always been mild, never had a flare up or anything. and for the most part i've always had normal stool unless i wasn't taking my medication on a daily basis. In the last two months or so, I've noticed black specks in my stool, the stool itself is normal color, but the blacks specks are freaking me out and i'm reading this is a sign of colon cancer. Is this a typical symptom or is it just my colitis? I was supposed to have a colonoscopy yesterday, but I was unable to handle the prep, so i'm scheduled for next monday.

Not sure about black specks, blood is a big symptom.

No point in worrying about it. Wait for your colonoscopy results. Blood in the stool could be from a number of things so there is no way to know until you have the colonoscopy images.

Hopefully it is nothing too serious.

I understand about the prep, it sucks but what worked for me was not eating for 24 hours before having to drink the liquid and i only drank 1.5-2 liters and i was clear. I even threw up some of it and i drank it slooowly if not i would gag. It was horrible but it might have just saved my life.

As far as prep, I have mentioned this b4, but I would ask for prepopik.
