We are here for you just like you have been here for so many of us. I am sorry that this has been such a hard time for you right now. I don't think that anyone could cope with all you are going through, especially not when going through their own health issues.

The degeneration of good friends, is hard to deal with. I have been there, and sometimes, you are the only one who knew that person (totally). As for your mother, there are only so many hours in a day. This is probably not a good solution for you, but when I was raising 5 children, and my mother ( who was wheelchair bound) just needed to wait her turn, to be accommodated !
That was well before I had cancer issues. I know it is not easy to lose control of situations , and be Superman,
but yes Michael, it can happen. I hope things smooth out.
Warm regards,
Michael

Had my DM on both Aricept & Namenda together. Anything to help slow down the progression of dementia was worthwhile IMO. It took some doing as Namenda had only been approved for use in the U.S. a couple of years @ that time, though had been used in Germany for 20 years. Hope you consider hiring in some help a few hours a week or so to lighten your load somewhat. You've got a full plate there. As far as the low dose spironolactone, I would only expect that it might take the edge off of the breathing issues. Imagine you will be contacting the doc re: a higher dose. Sure does seem when it rains, it pours sometimes, doesn't it?

Thanks for the various kind words and good advice. (I also would have accepted - STOP WHINING!)

I'm feeling a bit better physically today. Unfortunately one of my friends either died or is about to die. He has been declared essentially brain dead and the respirator is coming off today. I guess you could say he died last Saturday as he never woke up. Ah well - I had a bunch of stuff I wanted to write here but will have to save it for later. Not feeling it atm.

I dunno dude  It looks like you had 600 thoughts coming your way, to hope you were doing alright. As I have been reminded since the 70's, I'm just trying to make it real, compared to what

trust me I would have said it if you "needed" it .....
You don't, and it just goes to show the quality of your character by even thinking that ...
i.e. .... don't want to bother or sound like that with my homies ... we've been through so much ....

which is WHY HERE .. of all places you NEED to vent and share and rant
shitty days and weeks NEED to be shared out and diluted amongst friends.

You've been thru a bit of turbulence Voxx

Voxx...I am very sorry for your friend. It must be difficult for you not only to have to deal with it but not to have been able to have been there to say your goodbyes. Sometimes, life just sure doesn't seem fair.
