Stage 1. One tan sessile polyp measuring 1.2 x 0.9 x 0.7 cm. Adenocarcinoma, invasive at least into the sub-mocosa found during an early colonoscopy age 41.They obtained clear margins removing a piece 3cm in diameter out of my rectal wall with Trans-anal Endoscopic Micro Surgery using a 40mm operating procto scope, found no cancer in what they removed, and I was done. One day hospital stay, I was back at work in a few days, no exercise for a week, my butt hurt for two weeks if I didn't eat the pain killers they gave me, and I was tired for a while longer. Alternating flexible sigmoidoscopies and endorectal ultrasound every 3 months for 2-3 years, then every 6 months for the rest of 5 with blood draw for CEA/liver function tests. First follow-up colonoscopy in 1 year and we'll see how it goes.
