Julia,

My heart is full of sorrow, that your husband Chris's journey is nearing the end. Your post was very eloquent and touched me to the core, as I walked in your shoes just 5-7 months ago. You have a good mindset for this final chapter. Yes, there are dangers & daggers, But the love somehow just feels stronger, the words and feelings are amplified. Cherish each & every moment together- it is precious & will give you something wonderful to hold on to later (at least that was my experience).

Many of us have already walked to the end of our loved ones journey, and we are here for both of you. I went through several months of home hospice with my dear husband, and although I am not sure where your paths will carry you, if I can be of assistance in any way, please feel free to reach out in any method of your choosing.

We will be here for both of you now, and whenever either of you needs us.
May you both be surrounded by Love, Light, Courage & Peace

Chris

I am so sad to hear of this latest development. If there is anything that we can do for you and for Chris at this point in time, we are here to help.

As you know, some who start hospice just want to be with family and only their closest of friends, while others continue to post messages or even videos of their hospice experiences from time to time. What you want is what is most important right now. If you would like for friends here at Colon Talk to check in from time to time, we could send PMs to Chris's account (no replies required). Or if you prefer to have posts to your Caringbridge link, or to Chris's Facebook account, these are other ways that friends here could keep in touch over the near time-frame.

Just let us know if there is anything that we might be able do that could be of help during this part of the journey. You have been here for us all of these years. Now it is time for us to be here for you.

Oh, Julia, the news was not what any of us wanted to hear, but thank you for your beautiful words. Life will give way to death for all of us, some sooner than others. This, I understand. But what my head says, my heart doesn’t want to hear. Chris is such a great writer - insightful and wise and more centered than I ever will be. I’m sending you both the warmest of positive images and much, much love!
