Still dealing with asthma flare up

Postby DarknessEmbraced » Fri Jun 19, 2015 8:33 am

I spent hours in the ER yesterday waiting to be seen by a doctor because of my asthma. I had a normal chest x-ray. The ER doctor called the pulmonologist that I'm going to see July 2nd. I was put on a steroid inhaler. So now I have three inhalers. My prednisone was increased back up to 50mg for a week then taper down 5mg once a week. Still having a lot of trouble with congestion, shortness of breath and chest tightness. I'm hoarse very often.

I experienced those symptoms dealing with a blood clot (confirmation by CT scan).

Another friend had similar symptoms - plus serious fatigue -from severe anaemia, and required a couple of transfusions..

I'm not mentioning this to scare you - just to make sure that your doc ruled out these possibilities.

I had a normal chest x-ray. Would that have showed anything?
