The radiologist told me I had two liver mets that were growing instead of one. My CEA has risen to 166 from 29 in like 4 months. Explains a lot. Monday they are going to run a catheter up through my groin and hit the tumors with chemo directly. They are also going to map out the area for possible spheres later down the road if this does not work. Good news is that my largest met had shrank a lot. It was hard to measure because it has been eaten away and is oddly shaped now. Still have the blot clot in one of my portal veins so the daily injections continue. My appetite has been weird lately also. Don't know if it's cancer related or just mental. I can get mental sometimes. I finally asked how many mets I had on my liver. I have always been told "numerous" mets. Well, he said I have less than 10, possibly around 6. I took that as good news because in my mind I've always imagined about 20 or so. Now that I have a number I know how many we need to get rid of. Anyhow, that's my update if anyone wants to know. I'm a little nervous about the procedure Monday, but the doctor told me I wouldn't remember anything. We'll see how this works. Prayers appreciated.
The procedure well well according to the radiologist. They put my fully asleep for over 6 hours. I wasn't down that long for my last surgery. Chemo was delivered directly to the mets and some blood vessels were tied of to direct future chemo from my pump to those areas. They also mapped that area if I need spheres in the future. It took them a while but I didn't know; I was in lala land.I am home and resting. Thanks everyone for the care and concern!
