Is anyone taking this medication at all ?

Yes, it is one of the premeds given before a FOLFIRINOX infusion to counter side effects. It is also an energy booster. However, if you have diabetes it can cause the blood sugar to spike very high, requiring frequent blood sugar checks, adjustment of insulin dosage and decrease in amount of dexamethasone dosage.

I take it on the days of Chemo, folfox, together with ement and ondansetron. I lie awake at night for a few hours on the day I take them. In the first 5 chemosession I had diarrea from the start, the sixth started with obstipation, the nurses said it could be from the the dexamethasone, i said both? And she said yes, but I'm sure the 5FU an ondansetrone is also playing their parts.
Don't think you want to use it over a long period of time, if I read frenchies story... ( grim reaper topic) weird side effects. But two days every other week isn't so bad.
And I haven't yet thrown up from the chemo!
